The Marketing and Communications Committee is a collection of experts and experienced business people in the marketing and communications industries. Current members of this committee include executives from the local media, communications and design entrepreneurs, and representatives of the OICRD Board and its Essential Members.
WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR
To date the Marketing and Communications Committee has primarily been focused on developing the corporate image of the OICRD, including having a professionally designed logotype created along with supporting corporate stationery.
The Committee also tendered the printing of collateral materials and the design and maintenance of the Olds Institute website.
WHAT'S COMING NEXT
Having accomplished these primary goals, the Committee now turns its attention to the Communications side of its mandate. It is currently in the process of establishing communications protocol between the many committees and project sub-committees of the Olds Institute. By gathering important information from these vital groups, the Marketing and Communications can better represent the Olds Institute as a whole to the community.
To achieve this goal, the Marketing and Communications Committee will produce a "how-to" guide for all committees, covering topics such as preparing information for public release, how to speak to the media, and how to have information posted to the Olds Institute website.
In the coming weeks, the Marketing and Communications Committee will distribute a graphic flow chart to help OICRD understand the communications process.
Because we are in the earliest stages of developing our process, the website will be a primary tool used to share and distribute information between and from the various committees of the Olds Institute.
Once processes are well established, the Committee will turn its attention to increasing awareness of the OICRD with the people of Olds and area. As the capacity grows, the Marketing and Communications Committee will develop and enact plans for communications activities with broader audiences.
