TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR COMMITTEES
PURPOSE
- To have consistency with clear lines of communication and accountability on how committees of the Board function.
POLICY- Each committee of the Board shall have terms of reference. The terms of reference shall include the following:
- A stated purpose or vision.
- Objectives
- A membership structure and process for selection.
- A process for the election of officers (According to our bylaws, each committee picks its own chair.)
- A process for the development of an annual budget and submission of revenue and expenses
- A process for the development of timelines and a work plan
- Established lines of communication and accountability to the Board of the Society
- An evaluation process
PROCEDURE
- Board Members of the Institute will facilitate the development of a Terms of Reference with the members of each committee and ensure the above policy is implemented by Committees of the Board and approved by the Board.
