TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR COMMITTEES

PURPOSE

To have consistency with clear lines of communication and accountability on how committees of the Board function.
POLICY
Each committee of the Board shall have terms of reference. The terms of reference shall include the following:
  • A stated purpose or vision.
  • Objectives
  • A membership structure and process for selection.
  • A process for the election of officers (According to our bylaws, each committee picks its own chair.)
  • A process for the development of an annual budget and submission of revenue and expenses
  • A process for the development of timelines and a work plan
  • Established lines of communication and accountability to the Board of the Society
  • An evaluation process

PROCEDURE

Board Members of the Institute will facilitate the development of a Terms of Reference with the members of each committee and ensure the above policy is implemented by Committees of the Board and approved by the Board.
