MOUNTAIN VIEW POWER APPOINTS NEW BOARD CHAIR
Locally owned power company welcomes Jeff Frost as new leader of board
(OLDS, Alberta – November 18, 2015) The Olds Institute board has appointed Jeff Frost to the position of Board Chairman for Mountain View Power. Frost was born and raised in Olds and attended the University of Lethbridge. He is currently General Manager of the Olds office of Mistras Canada. The board chair and other board members are volunteers.
“I am excited to be part of the Olds Institute and Mountain View Power”, said Frost after the appointment. “It’s great to have an essential service in our community with all profits invested in projects we can all benefit from.”
Frost is looking forward to working alongside the other members of the organisation. He has stated that he will work with the MVP team to increase their subscriber base in the region and promote their green energy option which is part of a national drive to provide sustainable power to consumers.
Mountain View Power was founded in 2010 by the Olds Institute for Community & Regional Development as an innovative Community Sustainability Initiative. Mountain View Power retails electricity, natural gas and green generated power to residential, farming and small business located in the County of Mountain View. All profits from the company are used to fund and support community projects in the region.
The Olds Institute was formed in 2001 by community leaders who realized they could achieve more together than they could apart. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing their four founding members and includes members of the community at large.
